Wren duo chapter 12

Vader drew closer his mechanical breathing sounding louder the troopers ran to the side Ezra,ashley and Kanan engaged their lightsabers " Hera,go!we'll cover you!"Kanan yelled " Kanan,look out!"Hera yelled back vader swung at Kanan and they locked blades the troopers started firing at Sabine and Zeb they took cover vader force pushed Ezra and Kanan back leaving ashley by herself vader moved to strike ashley blocked it though she struggled to maintain a good defence vader pushed her blade to the side then moved to strike again ashley blocked it again before she failed to block a strike and vader's blade clashed with her helmet in a upwards slash causing ashley to cry out in pain before she was force choked and thrown back she landed and began coughing Kanan got up and moved to attack vader but eventually after Kanan's strikes vader grabbed Kanan's hand  and lifted him causing him to shut off his lightsaber before vader threw him into crates Ezra ran at him but vader force pushed him back against a walker leg and forced his saber closer to her neck " your master has deceived both of you into believing you could become jedi."vader said Ezra grunted and struggled to keep his blade from killing him Kanan got up and engaged his lightsaber and attacked vader causing him to lose focus on Ezra,freeing him"Get ready to fly us outta here!"Hera said chopper grumbled Kanan was in a blade lock with vader before vader broke the lock and pushed Kanan away Ezra ran at him and got two strikes at him but was hit away by vader Kanan ran in and got some strikes in on vader before going into a blade lock Sabine peek from behind cover and saw ashley " you know what I do in hopeless situations?"Sabine asked"yeah you blow stuff up."zeb chuckled Kanan and vader broke their lock and and formed another lower lock before going back to a normal above blade lock "Aim for the walkers."Sabine yelled as they threw the detonators at the walkers  the troopers ran away Sabine ran out and grabbed ashley and got her back to the shuttle vader broke the blade lock and struck Kanan's shoulder  the walkers legs exploded " Now!"Kanan yelled as he and ezra force pushed vader back in the way of the collapsing walkers  they began walking away before the walkers began to rise"If that doesn't kill him what will?"Ezra asked"not us.run!"Kanan replied"go chop!"Hera yelled " Come on! Come on!"Sabine yelled before she pulled out her blaster and fired two shots at vader he deflected them back at her and she fell back Ezra and Kanan got onboard and the shuttle flew away " My lord,I will mobilise our fighters to pursue."a commander said"what will be unnecessary,commander.the rebels will not leave the planet yet."vader said

Meanwhile on the shuttle

"Zeb,make sure they can't track us."Hera said " consider it done."zeb said"you alright?"Hera asked "yeah, I'll live but you should check ash."Sabine replied Hera nodded and checked on ashley a slash mark was present on her helmet  it only got a bit of her visor but what made Hera worried was it was the bit closest to ashley's eye " Kanan ,what was that?another Inquisitor?"Ezra asked partially worried about ashley's well being"nope. Something worse."Kanan replied"What?"Ezra asked"a sith lord.the ancient enemy of the jedi."Kanan replied " h-how do we fight him?"Ezra asked " fight him?Ezra,we were lucky to survive."Kanan replied " Then that settles it. I'm going to orbit so we can jump away."Hera said " Hera,no .he will have a blockade of destroyers waiting for us."Kanan said " and this shuttle is slow,with barely any weapons or Shields.we're gonna have to smuggle ourselves off lothal for a change."Sabine said " look everyone we got another problem here ashley is badly injured so what ever we're gonna do we have to do it fast!"Hera exclaimed " anyway I've been thinking we know the right man to smuggle us off world."Hera said"not him!"Kanan and ezra said in unison

Meanwhile

"My lord,our scams have indicated that the stolen shuttle has not attempted to leave the system."kallus said " fear has driven them to ground.there is a refugee camp the rebels have provided aid to in the past."vader said"Yes,"tarkintown"they call it.you suspect the rebels are in hiding there?"kallus asked"no, but I want you to burn it.the compassion of the rebels is a weakness.one we will exploit."vader said"Yes,my Lord."kallus said

"Well,hello there,captain syndulla.this is a pleasant surprise.what can I do for you?"Lando asked " this isn't a social call, lando.it's business.we need your help to smuggle something off lothal."Kanan said " past the imperial blockade."Hera added " you know if the Empire learns I got involved,it'd be all over for me.i'd be taking an awful big risk."Lando said"what do you want?"Kanan asked "What have you got?"Lando asked " imperial shield generators.military grade."Hera said " ooh.Now that's merchandise I can move.how many are we talking about?"Lando asked " two."Hera replied " two?you are no gambler,Hera. Offering me two means you got at least six,so I think,three is probably fair."Lando said sabine overheard this and came in"well my sister is badly injured and you're basing this off of gambling and fairness you should take the two and hope for the best or else!"Sabine snapped"oh Sabine I never thought of you as the extremely crazy violent type."Lando said " alot can happen when you have a family member hurt badly!"Sabine said"and maybe Instead of a third shield generator I'll throw in some of my best pieces of work instead they should make some good merchandise."Sabine added Lando thought for a moment " well that seems pretty fair."Lando said"so do we have a deal?"Sabine asked"well I'm not on lothal at the moment, my droid is.go to my operation,and he'll set you up with everything you need that includes you sabine."Lando said before the communication ended " huh good work Sabine now you'll have to make some real good pieces of work in a short time span to keep to our part of the deal."Hera said"With ash's help I'm pretty sure I'll manage."Sabine responded before walking away 

They landed "You must be Lando's droid?"Hera asked"yes, ma'am. Welcome. I have prepared everything according to calridsian's instructions.including art supplies and by the way is one of you a mechanic?"the droid asked"oh that must be me for both art and being the mechanic."Sabine said chopper grumbled "Defiantly not you."Sabine said Ezra saw smoke in the distance he ran towards a speeder bike " Hey,kid!"Zeb said Kanan put his arm in front of him " just let him go,zeb."Kanan said Ezra sped off he reached a certain point and stopped and got off and used his rangefinder Kanan stopped behind him" there's no one.they're all gone."Ezra said " They're prisoners of the empire now."Kanan said " All I sense is evil.why would the burn tarkintown?"Ezra asked"To spread fear,make us afraid.the people that lived here just got caught in the middle."Kanan replied " this happened because of us?"Ezra asked " there's a cost for any action we take now,Ezra.things are getting worse just as they did back when I was your age.but back then,there were 10,000 jedi knights protecting the galaxy. Now..."Kanan replied " there's just you and me and ashley."Ezra said " against the empire."Kanan said"we can fight!we have allies."Ezra said"Do you understand what you're saying?you saw what we're up against.look!"Kanan said"i'm not afraid."Ezra said "That's what worries me."kanan sighed 

They got back " What happened out there?"Hera asked"The empire burned tarkintown."Kanan replied " did anyone survive?"Sabine asked"The populations been taken captive."Ezra replied as he took his helmet off "Let's go bust'em out you with Me kid?"zeb growled " zeb no he'd be waiting.you were right.we have no choice.we have to leave."Kanan said " for the good of lothal."Hera said"so what's our plan for gettin' out of here anyway?"Ezra asked looking in ashley's direction for a second seeing her sitting on the ramp" Lando had these old transponders lying around sabines gonna tune their signature codes to match this shuttle's."Hera replied"sounds like a lousy Lando plan."Kanan said zeb chuckled " No,it's Lando's gear.it was my plan .with these transponders beaming out the same signal as the shuttle we should be able to slip by unnoticed."Sabine said"oh,sounds like a lousy Sabine plan."zeb said"well unless you've got a better one zeb then shut up!"Ezra hissed they took off and started deploying transmitters

"Admiral,I'm scanning a ship leaving the surface in sector 4.its transponder codes match those of the stolen imperial shuttle."an officer said " order all fighters to intercept."the admiral said"sir,I'm scanning the same transponder in sector 9."another officer said"there must be a mistake.re-scan."the admiral said"i'm tracking the identical signal in sector 11 and sector 5." a technician said

"The empires taken the bait,the fighters are splitting up."Kanan said " Alright. Let's make our run."Hera said"we have a tie reporting in.it appears to be some kind of devices sending out a signal."a technician said"delta squadron is reporting another device."another technician said"ok derived our pilots to destroy them!the rebels are trying to mask their escape!"the admiral said the ties fired upon the transponders " sir,one of the transponders is moving into orbit.its breaking out."a officer said "All ships converge on that signal."the admiral said"it looks like they figured it out."Kanan said"It's too late,boys."Hera said before the jumped to hyper space " the signal is gone.they've jumped."a officer said " never thought I'd say this but thank you Lando calrissian."Hera said"so If we can't go back to lothal,where are we going?"Kanan asked"what are you talking about? we're part of the rebellion now."Hera said " are we?are we all sure about that?"Kanan asked " maybe we could grab the ghost and lay low for a while."Sabine suggested as ashley leaned against her sabine holding her hand helping her with the pain"I like fighting with phoenix squadron.reminds me of the honour guard.besides,their counting on us plus ashley will need more medical attention then we could provide on the Ghost."zeb said looking at ashley"yeah it wouldn't be right to abandon them now."Sabine said"Ezra,what do you think?"Hera asked"we can't help lothal now,but I think the rebels can help us get stronger.so we can go back and change things.i think we should stay with the rebel fleet."Ezra replied

"My lord,I regret to inform you that the rebels have escaped lothal."the admiral said"Give my ship prepared."vader said before walking away " agent kallus ,I don't think I understand."admiral Constantine  said"there is a tracking device hidden aboard that shuttle.Now ready the fleet to deploy."agent kallus said

"Phoenix home,this is ghost away team.clearance code 1-2-1-8-1-5."Hera said"Your clearance code checks out .Ghost team."agent rebel officer said " how's ashley doing Sabine?"ezra asked"she's doing fine ezra I bandaged her up I'm just hoping it's enough but we ain't got nothing for the pain stupid syringe broke."Sabine replied  they got onboard Sabine carried ashley chopper rolled up behind them bleeping madly " chopper said a transmitter activated on our shuttle moments ago."Sabine said"what does that mean?"Ezra asked"it means the empire tracked us back to the fleet."Kanan replied " ash can you run?"Sabine asked ashley whimpired before nodding and running with them " commander santo we need the fleet to jump out of here.our shuttle was tracked."Hera said " commander,I'm scanning a ship entering our sector."a officer said " we're tracking one target no other ships have entered the system."a officer said " move phoenix squadron to intercept."commander santo said " fighter coming in at mark 3."a pilot said they started firing at vader's tie-advanced vader did rolls before shooting and taking out a fighter"he's  coming in too fast!"a pilot said " fleet raise deflector Shields. "Hera said " We've lost phoenix-1 and 2."a pilot said"He's heading right for us!"Ezra said "Enemy fighters making for the command ship."a pilot said the ship shook " How can one fighter out best our entire squadron?"commander santo asked"your pilots are outmatched,commander."Hera said as she ran to the door " Uh,what are you doing?"Kanan asked " getting involved."Hera replied"not without me you're not."Kanan said " Let's go."Sabine said as she hoisted ashley's arm over her shoulder and rushed out " Ezra come on!"Sabine yelled " all right if I tag along?"Ahsoka asked"The more,the merrier."Ezra replied they got on the ghost sabine left ashley after giving her pain killers she went to the turret " turret check."Sabine said " nose gun check!check!"Ezra said over comms " alright, kids ,do mom and dad proud."Hera said " here he comes."Kanan said vader fired on the command ship " we lost our Shields!"a technician exclaimed "ghost squadron moving to engage."Hera said"i'm on him " Sabine said as she fired off shots but they missed " who is this guy?"Sabine asked over comms " sir the last attack damaged the hyper drive core!we are dead in space."a rebel said"phoenix home to ghost.we can't withstand another attack from that fighter."commander santo said " copy that . Phoenix squadron.form up and focus fire."Hera said"the force is strong with him.kanan,let's find out how strong."Ahsoka said"How can I help?"Kanan asked " just remember your training."Ahsoka replied " enemy ship closing to attack range."a rebel said"there's something familiar.i feel... cold.i think I know who it is.back on lothal I felt something.kanan did too.the fear. The anger. The hate it's the sith lord.the we faced."Ezra said"the apprentice lives."vader said Ahsoka screamed and passed out " Ahsoka?"Kanan said vader broke off his attack " Captain Syndulla,whatever you're doing,keep it up!the fleet can recover!"commander santo said"No!commander,you need to get the fleet out now!"Kanan exclaimed " I will not abandon our command ship."santo said"you don't have a choice,sir.without a Hyperdrive you must abandon ship."Hera said"sir,we have started destroyers in sector 5."a officer said " Lord vader,we have entered the system and await your orders."admiral Constantine said"mother your destroyers to block their escape,but hold your fire.hold. I want these rebels alive."vader said"it's now or never,commander."Kanan said"i regretfully agree.all hands,abandon ship.you'll have to keep that fighter occupied."commander santo said"don't worry,sir.we seem to have his attention."Hera said " suddenly, there's alot to do back here."zeb said"sorry to spoil your fun,zeb.but I'm ordering chopper to divert all power to the hyper drive,including cannons."Hera said " Hera, what are you doing?"Sabine asked"i think I know."Ezra said " admiral,Lord vader had separated one of the rebellion ships from the rest of the fleet."a officer said"then that is our primary target."admiral Constantine said"mother crew the escape pods are secure.fleet commence hyperspace jump."santo said " copy that,commander.we'll meet you at safe haven."Hera said"the fleet is away,get us outta here!"Sabine said"i very one,hang on."Hera said " chopper,angle all deflectors astern."Hera said chopper grunted " the star destroyers aren't the ones firing at us!Now,do it fast!"Hera yelled chopper grumbled " target moving into range."a officer said " activate tractor beam on my signal."admiral Constantinesaid"hera!"Kanan yelled " Wait . wait."Hera said"now!"admiral Constantine said"go tchaikovsky."Hera said as she went to hyperspace

Later

"Ahsoka,Hera said you wanted to speak with us."Ezra said"Please,come in " Ahsoka said"and you okay?"Ezra asked"I am,thank you.i wanted to ask about the sith lord.the you encountered on lothal ."Ahsoka said"we know we encountered an Inquisitor before,but this was nothing like that.the fear ,the anger,the hate.you felt it.i haven't sensed a presence like that since..."Kanan said"the clone wars."Ahsoka said"yeah."Kanan said " Ahsoka,do you know who or what he is?"Ezra asked"no,I don't.but I do know that he will be coming.they'll all be coming now."ahsoka said"then we've got to be ready to fight."Ezra said"we must find the strength to fight.but greater courage is knowing when not to fight."Kanan said"and we'll be beside you either way."Hera said"and of course ash will too."Sabine said as ashley walked up beside Sabine a smile on her face ezra smiled right back.
